SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting and have identified the victim as 18-year-old Aubrey Resendez of Wichita.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting call at the Kwik Shop in the 600 block of South West Street in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police located a 2014 white Dodge Avenger with the rear window shot out.  Inside the vehicle was an 18-year-old male driver, a 27-year-old male passenger and Resendez, who had been shot.

EMS transported her to an area hospital where she died, according to Davidson.  The other two individuals in the car were not injured.

The investigation revealed a disturbance ensued in the 4200 block of West Pawnee between the occupants of the Avenger and occupants of a silver truck.

During the disturbance, an individual inside of the truck fired multiple shots at the Avenger, striking the vehicle and striking Rensendz.
