Kansas felon arrested after liquor store burglary

A serial burglar was arrested in Hays after a theft at a liquor store.

Video evidence showed an individual throwing a brick through the front door of the Southside Liquor, 701 Vine.

The suspect then grabbed four bottles of liquor from the business. The loss was estimated at around $60.

At 3:16 a.m. Friday, March 13, Anthony Wayne Gilliland, 22, Hays was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, criminal damage to property and theft, according to Hays Police Chief Don Scheiber.

Gilliland has two previous burglary convictions and interference with law enforcement.
