
SEDGWICK COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a registered Kansas felon new sex crime charges.
Just before 3:30 p.m., March 23rd, officers responded to a rape report that occurred in the 200 block of North Topeka in Wichita, according to officer Paul Cruz.
Through the investigation, officers learned 70-year-old Donald Thompson arrived at the Lord’s Diner and contacted a 47-year-old woman. Thompson and the victim left the location and walked back to Thompson’s apartment, where she was sexually assaulted.
Police arrested Thompson of Wichita on a requested charge of rape.
The case was presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office, who charged Thompson. He remains jailed on a bond of $200,000, according to online jail records. He has previous convictions for rape in Arkansas, according to the KBI offender registry.
