Man hospitalized after he entered Kan. electrical substation

TOPEKA –Law enforcement authorities are investigating how and why  a man was able to enter an electrical substation in Topeka.

Just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, p0lice, fire and medical crews were called to the electrical substation in the 3700 block of SW 29th Street in Topeka, according to LT. Matt Danielson.

Callers reported hearing an explosion and seeing an adult male fall to the ground. Officers arrived on scene and located a man inside the fenced in substation who had sustained life threatening injuries.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The circumstances surrounding how he entered and why he was there are currently under investigation by detectives.
