Update: Kansas man found with multiple gunshot wounds

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a criminal homicide and have identified the victim as Edward Wren, 38,  Wichita.

Just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a welfare check call in the 2700 block of South Roosevelt in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

A citizen called 911, reporting seeing a man inside a vehicle bleeding. Upon arrival, officers located a man later identified as Wren inside a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to Davidson.

Investigators continue working to learn the circumstances of what occurred, according to Davidson.
