FRANKLIN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after noon Sunday in Franklin County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Suburban driven by Jeanetta Marie Jenkins, 63, Kansas City, Mo., was northbound on U.S. 169 at Timberlake Road. The driver swerved to avoid a southbound 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Breanna Marie Kline, 23, Piqua, Kansas, that had crossed the center line.
Jenkins overcorrected and the SUV rolled onto its top in the south ditch.
A passenger in the Suburban Danielle M. LIvermore, 30, Jacksonville, FL, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Frontier Forensics.
EMS transported Jenkins to KU Medical Center and a 6-month-old in the Suburban identified as Helleleigh M. Perry, of Jacksonville, FL., to Overland Park Regional. Kline was not injured. All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
