The Cabela’s King Kat tournament scheduled for March 28 at Milford Lake has been postponed due to the coronavirus threat.

The event, which will serve as a qualifying tournament for the King Kat Classic Championship, was reset for October 10.

Spokesman Brent Frazee said the Classic, considered catfishing’s premier event, will be at Milford Lake on October 30-31. Both tournaments will be presented by Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s and sponsored by the

Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Acorns Resort on the reservoir will serve as the host lodging and weigh-in site.

Tournament officials and sponsors decided to move the tournament to a later date in response to the health threats posed by coronavirus, a highly-contagious disease.
