Morris County has issued a Stay at Home order, effective Wednesday. There are exceptions ranging from the need to obtain services or supplies such as food and household projects, outdoor activity with social distancing, performing work for essential businesses, caring for extended family and pets, complying with court orders, work / obtain healthcare services and working to maintain essential infrastructure.----In an effort to deal with COVID-19 a Stay at Home order has been issued for Dickinson County residents, effective at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.The new order by the Local Health Officer, Dr. Brian Holmes, takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25th and remain in effect until further notice.Dickinson County Emergency Management Director Chancy Smith said, "Just stay away from gatherings. "It doesn't mean that you can't get in the car and go drive around the countryside for a little while, you can't go to the pond and go fishing with your family. It just means stay in that group that you're with and just keep everybody else away from it."If you are not an essential person for your job to get completed and you are not at work avoid gatherings.According to the Order, essential businesses range from healthcare operations, essential infrastructure and essential government functions to grocery stores, food banks, convenience stores, farming, livestock, businesses providing food and shelter and auto repair and servicing businesses to plumbers, electricians, businesses providing mailing and shipping services, laundromats and dry cleaners, restaurants providing food for carry out only, and home based care for seniors, adults or children.
