Visitation limited at Manhattan and Wamego hospitals

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan and Wamego Health Center leaders have enacted additional visitation restrictions. They are designed to protect patients and staff now that COVID-19 has reached Riley County. One case was confirmed on Friday.

According to an Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan social media announcement the hospitals are no longer allowing any visitors except in labor and delivery and in end-of-life situations, where only one visitor per patient will be allowed.

All other visitation is being limited to virtual visitation.

Closures and cancellations

--Corps of Engineers managed campgrounds will be closed indefinitely. Reservations have been cancelled through May 15 and closures will be reevaluated at that time.

--The April 1 meeting of the Westloop/Westside Business Association is cancelled.

--All University Open House activities in Manhattan, Salina and Olathe have been canceled.

--Boys and Girls Club Manhattan closed until March 30

--Manhattan Town Center scales back most of their operations until at least April 4

--Manhattan Area Chamber has closed their lobby 

--Manhattan closed most city facilities but staff will continue to work but interaction with staff will be via online, telephone and email.

--Riley County buildings except those deemed essential are closed temporarily.

--McCain Performance series cancels or reschedules remaining shows of the season. Check Little Apple Post.

--USD 383 schools closed remainder of the academic year

--K-State in-person classes remainder of academic year along with all spring sports, and commencement.

--All Manhattan Parks and Recreation activities are closed until March 30.

--Sunset Zoo closed until April 6.

--Flint Hills Job Corps on spring break until April 14
