Community corrections assists with arrest of Kansas felon

BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a drug bust at a home in Great Bend.

On Thursday morning, officers sere dispatched to 2311 Prairie Rose Drive  to assist Central Kansas Community Corrections. When officers arrived Community Corrections personnel advised officers of suspected drug paraphernalia that they observed while inside the residence, according to the Great Bend Police Department.

Police arreste 41-year-old Jason Kober at the scene on unrelated warrants before a search warrant was obtained where officers located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kober was booked into the Barton County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has previous convictions for drugs and theft, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
