Missing Kansas man, his dog rescued after crash

SHAWNEE COUNTY  — A Kansas man reported missing Tuesday has been found and is alive.

Just after 10p.m. Tuesday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding a missing man identified as 68-year-old Bruce W. Jenson from the 9700 block of SW Deer Trail Street in Topeka.

Sheriff’s deputies responded and began an investigation. Authorities said Jensen was last seen around 6:30p.m. Tuesday.  Deputies made multiple attempts to locate Jensen throughout the night.

Just before 1:30p.m. Wednesday, Jensen was located in his overturned 2014 Nissan pickup truck under a bridge in the 9500 block of SW Auburn Road. Jensen and his yellow lab were both safety rescued from the truck. Mr. Jensen was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Hill.

Authorities released no additional details.
