JCHS basketball teams fall to Manhattan

Manhattan swept Junction City in basketball Tuesday night in the MHS gym.

Manhattan rolled past the Lady Jays 51-17 in the girls game to improve to 3-2, while Junction City fell to 0-4 on the season. 

Manhattan led 16-6 after one period and never trailed. Aloera Osterman led the Lady Indians with 14 points while Junction City got six from both Mellana Davis and Lucy Rivera.

In the boys varsity contest the Blue Jays led by two points at halftime 22-20, but the Indians led by the play of Owen Braxmeyer took the lead for good in the third quarter enroute to a 59-49 victory over Junction City. Braxmeyer scored 15 points in the win while Junction City was led by Quavez Humphreys with 16 points.

Junction City teams host Highland Park Friday night while the Manhattan squads play at Hayden.
