3 jailed on drug charges after Kan. traffic stop

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating three suspects on multiple charges after a traffic stop.


Just after 4p.m. Monday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of SE Monroe for a registration violation on a Mercury Sable, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.


The Sable was occupied by three individuals. Through the investigation at the scene, the driver identified as Jayme L. Douglas, 35 and two occupants including Kimberly R. Baker, 50, and James McBride, 39, all of Topeka were arrested and transported to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

McBride is being held on requested charges that include Possession of methamphetamine, Felon in possession of a firearm, Defacing identification marks on a firearm, Possession of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of stolen property, a felony warrant for aggravated robbery, 2 misdemeanor warrants and Multiple other traffic violations.
