KANSAS CITY —Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced charges against a Kansas City man in connection to a shooting that injured a minor earlier this month.
Kenneth A. Russell, 18, faces Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action. Russell was previously invited to a SAVE KC call-in but did not attend.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded to the sound of shots near East 63rd Street and Swope Parkway on Sept. 11. Based on multiple witness reports, Russell allegedly fired at a vehicle exiting a school parking lot. A minor inside the vehicle was struck in the shoulder.
A Jackson County judge set Russell’s bond to $75,000
