RENO COUNTY—Police in Reno County have made an arrest in connetion with a fatal overdose death.
In March 2026, the Hutchinson Police Department investigated a fatal overdose. The case was assigned to the Special Operations Unit, which initiated an investigation and identified Jeffery Primeaux Jr., age 46 of Hutchinson, as the suspect in the alleged illegal distribution of controlled substances that resulted in the death.
On September 22, police arrested Primeaux Jr. on requested charges of Distribution of a Methamphetamine; Causing Death. He has previous convictions for theft and evading a roadblock, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
