COWLEY COUNTY — Sheriff's deputies and police officers arrested a 32-yearold Wichita man Sunday evening following a felony traffic stop related to a domestic battery incident in Butler County, according to a media release from Cowley County Sheriff.
Just before 6:30p.m. , Cowley County deputies were alerted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office to be on the lookout for a black Toyota Tundra. Deputies located the vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 77 Highway and, with assistance from Winfield Police Department officers, conducted a felony traffic stop in the parking lot of Jumpstart, 1318 Main Street.
During the stop, the driver presented a firearm but complied with officers’ commands to place it back inside the vehicle. The driver became combative while being taken into custody, resulting in injuries to four law enforcement officers and property damage.
The driver, identified as Joshua Lee Bader, 32, of Wichita, was transported to the Cowley County Jail, where he remains in custody. Bader’s bond was set at $43,000.00
