WASHINGTON —President Trump invited Kansas 4th district Congressman Ron Estes to the Oval Office for the official signing of the Ending Improper Payments to Deceased People Act.
On his social media page, Rep. Estes wrote, " I’m pleased to see this common sense legislation signed into law – President Trump and Republicans are leading with results and fighting to support the American taxpayer."
"By permanently allowing the SSA to share full death data with the Treasury’s "Do Not Pay" service, we are stopping erroneous payments to the deceased. This will stop hardworking Americans from footing the bill for waste, fraud, and abuse."
"The Fiscal Service estimates that by December 2026, this data exchange will save $330 MILLION in improper payments across the federal government."
Estes has served the 4th Congressional District since April 2017.
