
KANSAS CITY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a building fire in Kansas City.
Just after 7:30p.m. p.m. Monday, Kansas City Fire Department companies were dispatched to a reported building fire in the area of Bannister Road and James A. Reed Road in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
The first arriving company reported heavy smoke coming from a vacant one-story commercial structure at the former Robandee Shopping Center.

Crews determined that the fire was confined to the building’s exterior and roof and were able to extinguish it before it spread inside.
The fire was reported under control at 8:12 p.m. Searches of the structure came back "all clear." There were no injuries reported.
Planning and Dangerous Buildings were requested to the scene.
