KANSAS CITY—Two people died in an accident just before 9:30a.m. Friday in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino. a preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Jeep Cherokee was southbound on Interstate 435 just north of Front Street. The Jeep traveled off the roadway to the righ, continued through the grassy shoulder and down the embankment. The Jeep continued through a metal fence and across the parking lot of the business located at 6920 Executive Drive. The Jeep then struck the front of a parked semi-trailer before coming to rest. Both, the driver and passenger were declared deceased at the scene. They both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to DiMartino.
This is fatality # 52 and #53 compared to #50 at this time last year. The accident remains under investigation.
