KANSAS CITY—Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at a hotel in Kansas City.
Just after 4p.m. Thursday, crews responded to a reported fire at the 4-story Days Inn hotel in the 8600 block of Hillcrest, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
On arrival crews reported fire showing from a second-floor room. Searches of the structure came back all clear. Fire had extended from the interior of the second-floor room to the exterior but was contained to the exterior.
EMS transported one occupant for evaluation due to smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
