SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating the murder of 24-year-old Brittnee Wicker of Wichita, stemming from a shooting incident.
Just after 6p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a shooting at a home in the 2300 block of S. Belmont in Wichita, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.
First responder located Wicker inside her home with a fatal gunshot wound. She would be pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect and bring justice to the victim and their family. The suspect and the victim are known to each other, and this was not a random incident, according to Gupilan.
