Kan. officer who retired Thursday charged with computer crimes

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Wichita Police Department officer who retired this week is facing criminal charges.

Friday afternoon, investigators with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department notified the Wichita Police Department that the Sedgwick County District Attorney had charged former Police Captain Wendell Nicholson on eight counts of computer crimes.

Nicholson had been with the Wichita Police Department for 29 years prior to retiring. His last day with the department was March 23.

The district attorney's office released no additional details
