JOHNSON COUNTY—A Kansas man is going to prison for the murder of a Kansas woman and her unborn child.
On July 15, Judge T. Kelly Ryan sentenced 30-year-old Doniel Sublett, Jr., to life with no possibility of parole until he has serves 50-years, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.
In November, Sublett plead guilty to pre meditated first-degree murder of Kathleen Jane Dampier and her unborn baby boy.
In September of 2022, police responded to report of a medical emergency at an apartment in the 7400 Block of Flint in Olathe, according to a media release from police.
At the scene, officers located 25-year-old Kathleen J. Dampier with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police took Sublette into custody for questioning and made an arrest.
