
KANSAS CITY—Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment building in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just after 5a.m. Friday, Kansas City Fire Department crews were dispatched to a reported apartment fire in the 2200 block of East 8th Street, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
On arrival, crews reported smoke and fire showing from a 3-story apartment building, as well as fire showing from a second apartment building across the parking lot.
Crews initiated an offensive fire attack on both fires, advancing multiple hose lines into the structures to extinguish the fires. The fire has been placed under control, and companies are in the process of picking up and returning to service.
Occupant searches were performed throughout all units within the structures, coming back all clear. No injuries have been reported from this incident
City Planning and Dangerous Buildings were requested to the scene.
