SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in an altercation that left 30-year-old Marco Gonzales-Arias dead made his first court appearance on Thursday.
Armando Martinez, 22, is charged with second-degree murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.
Just after midnight October 12, police responded to the Emery Gardens apartment complex in the the 4200 block of S. Hydraulic in Wichita.
First responders found Gonzales-Arias suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital and he was pronounced deceased.
Martinez suffered stab wound and fled the scene. Police located him, took him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Just after 7p.m. October 12, he was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail. He is being held on a $500,000 bond, according to the district attorney's office.
