Sheriff: 3 jailed on felony charges after Kan. traffic stop

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating three suspects on felony charges after a traffic stop.

Just before midnight January 19, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2009 Dodge Charger near SW Montara Parkway and SW Towerview Lane, according to  During the investigation, firearms and drugs were located inside the vehicle, according to Deputy Shayna Anderson.

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Melvin C. Avery, 28-year-old Terrance J. Wright and 23-year-old Jaquan D.J. Bridges-Alberty all of Topeka, and booked them into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

 Avery is being held on requested charges of Criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, Multiple felony drug charges and Traffic violations

Wright is being held on requested charges of Criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and Multiple felony drug charges.

Bridges-Alberty is jailed on requested on Multiple felony drug charges. He also had a misdemeanor warrant out of the City of Topeka, according to Anderson.
