SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement and fire officials investigating a fire at a Kansas home have made an arrest.
Just before 5:30p.m. Thursday, crews were dispatched to a reported house fire at 716 SW Polk Street in Topeka, according to department spokesperson Rosie Nichols. First arriving units found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of a multi-unit residential building.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire keeping all damage contained to the building where the fire started.
Investigators determined the the fire was intentionally set. The total dollar loss is $25,000. Topeka Police Department along with the Topeka Fire Department officials also arrested 28-year-old Alisha M Doty on a requested charge off Aggravated Arson.
