3 hospitalized after fire at home in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY—Three people were injured in a fire on Sunday in Kansas City.

Just after 10:30a.m. crews were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 3300 block of Askew Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.

On arrival, crews reported smoke on the 2nd floor of a 2-story house and initiated an offensive fire attack. Residents reported that all residents were able to get out on their own. Crews did conduct a search of the structure, which came back all clear. The fire was quickly brought under control and contained to a single room. KCFD ambulances transported 3 occupants of the residence, to local hospitals. Late Sunday, there was no update on their condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD.
