Kansas couple charged in the death of 1-year-old son

SEDGWICK COUNTY — A couple whose child died in October of 2023 have made an appearance in court.

On Monday, the boy's mother 36-year-old  Wilma Presley of Wichita was charged with 1st degree murder and aggravated endangering a child, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

The boy's father Brijin McCullough, 31, Wichita, was charged with 1st degree murder and three counts of aggravated endangering a child.  On January 5, police booked McCullough into the Sedgwick County jail on gun and weapons requested charges.

Police booked Presley into jail March 5, on drug allegations and for the death of one-year-old Kaiden McCullough.

In October, first responders were called to  Walmart, 501 East Pawnee in Wichita, after a report that a child was unresponsive. EMS took the child to a Wichita hospital where he was pronounced dead.

McCullough and Presley are each being held on a bond of one-million dollars, according to the district attorney's office.
