
WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department are investigating a weekend shooting that took the life of a 64-year-old Kansas City, Kansas man. Three suspets are in custody in Newton.
Just after 7p.m. on June 7, police were called to report of a shooting in the 3000 block of N. 82nd Terrace in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a media release.

First responders found James Dodds outside his home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported in critical condition to an area hospital where he died from his injuries the following day.

On Monday 19-year-old Aaron Johnson; 19-year-old Mark Elliott Nash, Jr., and 18-year-old Marquel McGee all residents of Kansas City, Kan., were taken into custody in Newton, according to police.
All three were charged on Tuesday in Wyandotte County with first degree murder. All three are currently being held in the Harvey County Detention Center pending transfer to Wyandotte County.
