LINCOLN, Neb. - Kansas State volleyball opened its 2021 season Friday morning with a 3-1 victory over Colgate as part of the Husker Invitational.
The Wildcats lead for a large chunk of the first set, but Colgate would rally to take a 25-19 first set win. From there, K-State would rip off three straight set wins, 25-21, 26-24, and 25-16.
The Wildcats were paced by 21 kills and 11 digs from sophomore outside hitter Aaliyah Carter. Redshirt junior outside hitter Holly Bonde added 11 kills, and senior Haley Warner 10.
Kansas State (1-0) will now face a momentous challenge, taking on #5-ranked Nebraska tomorrow at 4p.m. from the Devaney Center in Lincoln. Kansas State is just 4-79 against the Huskers all-time, with a 3-32 record at Nebraska.
