Police captured Kansas homicide suspect after 2-state chase

WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a Kansas murder took a suspect into custody after a weekend police chase.

Just after 10:30a.m. Feb. 23, police officers observed a vehicle that was wanted in relation to a homicide investigation, according to Kansas City, Kansas Police.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspect fled. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit in the area of N. 32nd St. and State Ave. The pursuit continued on I-70 east bound into Kansas City, Missouri where KCPD officers assisted. A short time later the suspect continued back into Kansas City, Kansas on Interstate 35 Hwy.

The suspect vehicle attempted to exit the highway on to N 7th Street Trafficway, where the suspect lost control of the vehicle and struck a police vehicle and a citizen’s vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries involved with the vehicle pursuit and car crash. Police have not released the name of the suspect or additional details.
