FRANKLIN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 4p.m. Thursday in Franklin County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Milda M. Caleb, 83, Ottawa, was eastbound on Kansas 68 four miles west of Ottawa. The driver began to turn northbound on Indiana Road and failed to yield.
A westbound 2021 Hyundai Accent driven by Thomas R. Harmon, 38, Pomona, Kansas, struck the Mercury.
Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics in Kansas City. EMS transported Caleb to KU Medical Center and a passenger Lester J Caleb, 53, Ottawa, to Advent Health. Harmon was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
