BROWN COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a traffic stop.

Just after 3a.m. Sunday, a sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop in the
vicinity of 250th and Prairie in Brown County, according to Sheriff John Merchant.

The deputy arrested 40-year-old  Zach Brown of Highland on requested
charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug and Paraphernalia  and Felony Parole Violation.

Brown has previous convictions for battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, flee or attempt to elude, destroy evidence in a federal case and for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. He had been out of prison since September.
