Kansas man sentenced for marijuana sale murder

SEDGWICK COUNTY— One of two men involved in the death of a man during a drug deal has been sentenced to prison.

On March 3, Judge David Dahl sentenced Ashantis Bledsoe, 22 of Wichita, to 247 months in prison, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

In February of 2019, police found Lorenzo Wade, 22 of Wichita, with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Genesis Health Club in the 3700 block of west 13th Street.  Police also found a bag of marijuana  next to his body.

Last month, Bledsoe pled guilty to a charge of voluntary manslaughter.

In September 2020, Tanner Mora, 27 of Wichita, was sentenced to life with parole eligibility after 25 years. A jury convicted Mora of felony first-degree murder during the commission of an aggravated robbery which occurred during the sale of marijuana.
