LEAVENWORTH COUNTY —During voting on Tuesday, a ballot shortage occurred at the Linwood Community Building involving the Linwood/Sherman H-38 ballot due to an error in the number of ballots ordered, according to a media release from the Leavenworth County election office.
The shortage was discovered early, and efforts to correct the mistake began immediately.
"We recognize the importance of ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot. We sincerely apologize for this mistake and any inconvenience or concern it may have caused."
"If you were unable to vote due to the ballot shortage, please return to the Linwood Community Building polling location to cast your ballot, or contact the Leavenworth County Clerk's Office at 913-684-0421 for assistance before 7:00 p.m. We appreciate your patience and understanding."
