WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly Kansas shooting have identified the victim as 43-year-old Peter Long of Kansas City, Kansas.
1100 Block of County Line Rd.Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department have identified the male victim from early Saturday morning 2-17-2024. The victim has been identified as Peter Long, 8-20-1981. He was a resident of Kansas City,
Just before 3a.m. Feb. 17, police were dispatched to the Southridge Apartments in the 1100 Block of County Line Road, according to a media release. First responders discovered Long deceased inside an apartment with apparent gunshot wounds.
The suspect, an adult male remains in custody. This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Major Case Unit. This death is the first homicide of 2024 in Kansas City, Kansas.
