Trailing by as many as 7 points in the first half and knotted at 34-all at the break, Baylor (20-4, 8-3 Big 12) seized control of the momentum and the game with its 19-4 outburst out of halftime, as six different Bear players contributed to the run, including 9 points from senior transfer&nbsp;James Akinjo.

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;– Sophomore guard&nbsp;Nijel Pack&nbsp;was selected as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday (February 7) after he posted consecutive 20-point performances in a pair of wins this past week, including the game-winner against Oklahoma State.

Pack is the first Wildcat to win multiple Player of the Week honors in the same season in more than 7 seasons since&nbsp;Nino Williams&nbsp;won it twice during the 2014-15 season (Dec. 15, 2014, and Jan. 26, 2015). Pack also won the weekly accolade on January 24 after his career-high 35-point effort against Kansas.

For the week, Pack averaged 21 points on 59.3 percent (16-of-27) shooting, including 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from 3-point range, along with 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists in 36.5 minutes in helping K-State post consecutive wins over OSU (71-68) and TCU (75-63) last week. He capped a game-high 22-point performance against the Cowboys with the game-winning 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds, while he followed with 20 points, a career-high 4 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the road win over the Horned Frogs.

Manhattan ( 4-10 ) rallied from a late four-point deficit and Jack Wilson hit two free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining to defeat the Junction City Blue Jays ( 10-4 ) 43-41 Friday night at MHS.

The Blue Jays led by four points with just over one minute to play and but failed to score on two possessions and Manhattan came back to tie the game before Wilson hit the game winning throws. Junction City had one final possession of the basketball but could not score.&nbsp;

Howard Johnson led Junction City with 20 points in the loss while Trey Holloway led the Indians with 10 and Jack Wilson finished 9 points.

The Blue Jays and Indians split their regular season series.

The ending of the ballgame was disappointing for the radio broadcasters. A key power cord providing electricity to the press table became unplugged, knocking out power for the broadcaster's equipment during the hectic finish of the ballgame.&nbsp;

Pack hits late bucket to lift K-State to a win

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;–&nbsp;Kansas State’s 2022 signing class grew by four members on Wednesday, as head coach&nbsp;Chris Klieman&nbsp;announced the signing of its newest players for the 2022 season. In addition to the 13 signees in December, K-State’s Class of 2022 now includes 17 players.

The latest signees are quarterback&nbsp;Adryan Lara&nbsp;(Goodyear, Ariz.; Desert Edge), defensive back&nbsp;Jacob Parrish&nbsp;(Olathe, Kan.; Olathe North), athlete&nbsp;Tyson Struber&nbsp;(Galva, Kan.; Canton-Galva) and community-college defensive tackle&nbsp;Vaai Seumalo&nbsp;(Maunaloa, Hawai’i; Garden City CC).

Parrish and Struber are the third and fourth Wildcats from the state of Kansas, as K-State has signed at least four from the Sunflower State every year since 2010. Seumalo will be the first K-State football player to hail from the state of Hawai’i since 2003 (Peni Holakeituai and Jesse Keaulana-Kamakea).

In addition to the 13 signees in December, K-State’s Class of 2022 now includes 17 players.The latest signees are quarterback&nbsp;Adryan Lara&nbsp;(Goodyear, Ariz.; Desert Edge), defensive back&nbsp;Jacob Parrish&nbsp;(Olathe, Kan.; Olathe North), athlete&nbsp;Tyson Struber&nbsp;(Galva, Kan.; Canton-Galva) and community-college defensive tackle&nbsp;Vaai Seumalo&nbsp;(Maunaloa, Hawai’i; Garden City CC).Parrish and Struber are the third and fourth Wildcats from the state of Kansas, as K-State has signed at least four from the Sunflower State every year since 2010. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tom Brady, the most successful quarterback in NFL history, has retired after winning seven Super Bowls and setting numerous passing records in an unprecedented 22-year career.

“This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore,” Brady wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram. “I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”

Brady has long stated his desire to spend more time with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and three children despite still playing at the top of his game.

The 44-year-old Brady goes out after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title last season and NFC South championship this season.

News of Brady’s pending retirement leaked Saturday. His family and the Buccaneers denied that he had made a final decision, and he said Monday night on his SiriusXM podcast he wasn’t ready to finalize his plans.

“I’ve done a lot of reflecting the past week and have asked myself difficult questions,” Brady said in his post. “And I am so proud of what we have achieved. My teammates, coaches, fellow competitors, and fans deserve 100% of me, but right now, it’s best I leave the field of play to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes.”

Brady thanked the Buccaneers organization, his teammates, ownership, general manager Jason Licht, coach Bruce Arians, his trainer Alex Guerrero, agents Don Yee and Steve Dubin and his family in his nine-page post. He didn’t mention the New England Patriots, where he spent his first 20 seasons and won six Super Bowls. Of course, Brady thanked the Patriots and coach Bill Belichick after he left the team to sign with the Buccaneers in March 2020.

“To the Glazer family, thank you for taking a chance on me and supporting me,” Brady said of the Bucs’ owners. “I know I was demanding at times, but you provided everything we needed to win, and your ownership was everything a player could ask for.”

Brady said he’s still figuring out how he’ll spend his time but he plans to be involved in his TB12 health and wellness company, Brady clothing line and NFT company.

Officially official: Tom Brady retires after 22 seasons, 7 Super Bowl titles

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;–&nbsp;Coming off an impressive 8-5 campaign that was capped by a victory over LSU in the TaxAct Texas Bowl, K-State athletics officials announced today a full menu of ticket options when season tickets go on sale on Wednesday, February 2.

Seven exciting home matchups, which includes a visit from former conference foe Missouri and four home Big 12 games, await the 2022 Wildcats, who return 13 players that made at least five starts a year ago in addition to several FBS transfers at key positions.

Fans will again be offered a variety of choices with season ticket options starting at less than $22 per game. All season ticket prices in Bill Snyder Family Stadium remain unchanged for 2022, including $150 view level season tickets and $199 season tickets for young alumni.

New season ticket holders, or 2021 season ticket holders who wish to change their seat location or add additional seats, can select their seat from any season ticket location that was available at the end of last season. At 8:30 a.m., on February 2, open locations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to all fans, regardless of priority point status.

Fans who order by the incentive deadline of March 15 – which coincides with the due date of the Ahearn Fund 25% annual contribution – will receive $10 off the processing fee when ordering online.

Any locations that are currently occupied and dropped by 2021 season ticket holders during the renewal process will only be available during the online seat selection process beginning on May 23 at an appointment time designated in priority point order. Fans who renew or purchase 2022 season tickets by the April 22 priority deadline will be able to upgrade their location during this online seat selection process in May, while April 22 is also the deadline for season ticket holders to pre-order single-game tickets.
