Fans traveling to Manhattan for K-State football games this fall will have access to a convenient and time-saving new service, thanks to a new partnership between K-State Athletics and Tailgate Guys.

The Athletic Department announced that this partnership will allow K-State fans and alumni to save time through a variety of turnkey reserved tailgate package options that include tents, chairs, tables, coolers and other tailgating essentials. Tailgate Guys will operate both the 'Cat Town' area as well as a newly designated grass space just outside the northeast corner of the stadium.

K-State is now the seventh Big 12 Conference school partnership for Tailgate Guys.

Fans attending games at Bill Snyder Family Stadium for games this fall will have access to a full range of premium pregame tailgate package options and reserved locations in both designated locations. The turnkey tailgate packages that will be available throughout the 2020 home football schedule will have the capacity to service groups as small as five guests to large scale events of 1,000-plus. Hundreds of thousands of Kansas City Chiefs fans braved sub-freezing wind chills to celebrate the team's first Super Bowl victory in 50 years. If head coach Andy Reid is to be believed, they'll be back for an encore next year. 

Fans lined the 2-mile parade route on Wednesday to thank their football heroes for bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Kansas City and ending a Super Bowl drought that began after the Chiefs won Super Bowl IV in 1970. 

Hours before the parade, police stopped a car driven by an apparently impaired driver who drove through a barricade and along the parade route. The driver and another person were arrested.

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;–&nbsp;Coming off an 8-5 campaign in the first season under head coach&nbsp;Chris Klieman&nbsp;– a year in which the Wildcats tied for third in the Big 12 and earned a bowl berth for the ninth time in the last 10 years – anticipation is building for K-State’s 2020 football season as athletics officials announced today a full menu of ticket options when season tickets go on sale on Wednesday, February 5.

The Wildcats host seven home games, including SEC opponent Vanderbilt, in-state rival Kansas, and Big 12 foes Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. K-State begins the season against 2019 bowl game winner Buffalo on Saturday, September 5, and hosts five home games in the first six weeks of the season.

Fans will again be offered a variety of choices with season ticket options starting at less than $22 per game. All season ticket prices in Bill Snyder Family Stadium remain unchanged for 2020, including $150 view level season tickets, $150 season tickets for young alumni and the $199 Mobile Flex Ticket.

New season ticket holders, or 2019 season ticket holders who wish to change their seat location or add additional seats, can select their seat from any season ticket location that was available at the end of last season. Any locations that are currently occupied and dropped by 2019 season ticket holders during the renewal process will only be available during the online seat selection process in May at an appointment time designated in priority point order. Fans who renew or purchase 2020 season tickets by the April 17 priority deadline will be able to upgrade their location during this online seat selection process in May.

K-State fans will notice changes in the south end of Bill Snyder Family Stadium this fall as two new video boards will be installed this offseason in the southeast and southwest corners to mirror those in the north end zone. Construction to the new covered concourse, permanent concessions, restrooms and premium seating options in the south end will be ongoing next fall and will be ready in time for the 2021 season.

Looking ahead to the 2020 season, spring practices get underway on March 18, which culminates with a free open spring practice on Friday, April 17 at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in lieu of a traditional spring game. K-State returns 10 starters – including six on defense – and 18 players overall who made at least one start in 2019.

Kansas State football will host their annual coaching clinic at the Vanier Family Football Complex and Bill Snyder Family Stadium on April 4.

This will be open to all high school, community college, NAIA, NCAA Division Two or Three coaches, and well as junior high and youth coaches. The clinic will provide participants an opportunity to observe a Wildcat team practice in addition to breakout sessions and drill demonstrations by the entire coaching staff including head coach Chris Klieman.

Registration is $30 per coach if completed on or before March 25 and $40 per coach thereafter. The clinic will run from approximately 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Wildcats closed out the game with four straight free throws by McGuirl. Kansas State led wire-to-wire, handing the Sooners their fourth lost in their last five five conference games. Alondes Williams scored 15 points for Oklahoma, which was held to its lowest total of the season.&nbsp;

Dillons Sunflower Showdown is set for Tuesday night in Lawrence

David Dayne Glass, who served as President and CEO of Walmart Inc. from 1988 to 2000 when he led the company through extraordinary growth, died January 9, according to the Glass family. He was 84.

He died of complications associated with pneumonia, according to a media release from the Glass family.

Most recently Glass was owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Kansas City Royals, a team he helped lead to two consecutive World Series appearances and in 2015 brought the World Championship trophy to the fans of Kansas City. Glass and his family sold the Royals late last year.

A native of Mountain View, MO, Glass served in the U.S. Army after graduating high school from 1954-56. After leaving the Army Glass earned a business degree from Southwest Missouri State University, now named Missouri State University, in Springfield, MO.

Upon graduation Glass began his retail career in 1960 with Crank Drug Company in Springfield. He left Crank in 1968 after the company was sold and worked for two other companies, including serving as General Manager of Consumer Markets in Springfield. In 1976, Glass was recruited by Walmart founder Sam Walton to become Walmart's Chief Financial Officer.

Glass was named President and CEO of Walmart in 1988 and served in that role for 12 years. During his term in that role, Glass guided the company through a period of extraordinary growth both in terms of revenues and expansion including retail acquisitions, expansions including new retail formats and significant international expansion. Specifically, under Glass' leadership, Walmart:

Glass led a team of managers who adopted new and innovative technologies to streamline operations and improve customer service. This included the development of automated distribution centers, linked by computers to Walmart headquarters, stores and suppliers, which enabled the company to expand beyond a regional retailer to become an international retail leader.

Glass was also a mentor and leader to many who are now leading successful business careers and lives of their own.

Rob Walton, former Walmart Chairman and eldest son of Sam Walton, said the following:

"When we lost my Dad, David provided a steady, visionary hand the company needed to lead it forward. He did so with a deep sense of humility while maintaining the values and principles Dad founded the company on. More than anyone beyond Sam Walton, David Glass is responsible for making Walmart the company it is today. On behalf of the entire Walton family, I want to express our appreciation for David as a leader and as a friend. He will be deeply missed."

Added Doug McMillon, current Walmart President and CEO:

Glass was honored with numerous retail and business awards over the years, including being named "most admired CEO" in 1993 by Fortune Magazine, and inducted into the Retail Hall of Fame in 2000 and into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame.

A lifelong baseball fan starting as a child when he followed the St. Louis Cardinals, Glass was appointed interim Chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Royals in 1993 upon the death of then owner Ewing Kauffman. Glass and his family acquired the Royals in 2000 and it was at that time that he began his second career, a career in baseball, at age 64.

During his ownership of the Royals, Glass was an active member in Major League Baseball and served on key committees within the Major League organization. Glass was the Chairman of the Board of MLB Advanced Media, a member of Major League Baseball's Executive Council and a member of MLB Enterprise and Finance Committee.

Glass was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in July 2000, where he served as a member of the Pension and Audit Committees.

Dayton Moore, Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager for the Royals, said the following:

"Mr. Glass loved this game, this team and our city with all his heart. He cared deeply for our fans and for the future of baseball. But above all, Mr. Glass placed an emphasis on putting family first which is what he stressed to our entire organization. However, while the list of business and sports achievements and honors are impressive indeed, those who knew Glass best knew that his number one priority throughout his entire life was his love and commitment to his family. Glass and his wife, Ruth, have three children, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Glass and his family have been supportive of numerous charitable causes and organizations over the years including Missouri State University. In fact the Missouri State College of Business is named David D. Glass Hall in honor of his dedication to the university.

The Glass family will hold a public "Celebration of Life" in his honor on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 1 p.m. the Northwest Arkansas Fellowship Bible Church, 1051 W. Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers AR.

Former owner of the Royals David Glass dies at age 84

BOTTOM LINE: No. 12 West Virginia presents a tough challenge for Kansas State. Kansas State has played a ranked team only once this season and lost. West Virginia easily beat TCU by 32 in its last outing.

SUPER SENIORS: Kansas State's Cartier Diarra, Xavier Sneed and Makol Mawien have combined to account for 53 percent of the team's scoring this season and have scored 60 percent of all Wildcats points over the last five games.

DEFENSIVE IMPROVEMENTS: The Mountaineers have given up only 51 points per game to conference opponents so far, an improvement from the 62 per game they gave up against non-conference foes.

KEY CONTRIBUTOR: Diarra has either made or assisted on 50 percent of all Kansas State field goals over the last five games. The senior guard has accounted for 27 field goals and 25 assists in those games.

ASSIST RATIOS: The Mountaineers have recently gotten buckets via assists more often than the Wildcats. Kansas State has 26 assists on 58 field goals (44.8 percent) across its past three outings while West Virginia has assists on 37 of 69 field goals (53.6 percent) during its past three games.

There has been an adjustment in the starting times for the Junction City - Manhattan wrestling dual on Thursday at JCHS.

Blue Jay wrestling coach Tyler Gonzalez said due to both Manhattan and Junction City travel plans for their next day tournaments the time for the events need to be bumped up.

The Boys junior varsity and Girls varsity matches will begin at 5 p.m.&nbsp;

The Varsity boys introductions will be held at 5:50 p.m. with varsity matches beginning at 6 p.m. at the Shenk Gym.
