RCPD: Body found on Konza Prairie Nature Trail

UPDATE:

Riley County police said an adult woman's body was found at Konza Prairie Nature Trail on Wednesday at approximately 10 a.m. The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is pending. Early indications do not suggest the death to be suspicious. There is no indication of danger to the public in the area.

Providing recovery assistance in the case were the Manhattan Fire Department Rescue Team, Konza Prairie Nature Trail staff, Riley County Fire District #1, the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, Kansas State University Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Shawnee County Fire Department, Salina Fire Department and Kansas City Kansas Fire Department.

RILEY COUNTY —A body was found on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail Wednesday, according to the Riley County Police Department.

Earlier, the agency asked information on the whereabouts of Nicole Grothe. She was believed to have been hiking on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail.

Nicole has brown hair, brown eyes, is 5-foot-4 and 130 pounds.
